Back in November, Milan continued their brilliant recent record against their city rivals as they beat Inter 1-0 in the first derby of the season. The only goal of the game came through Christian Pulisic early in the second half as he buried a rebound from Alexis Saelemaekers’ shot.
The Rossoneri had Mike Maignan to thank, as he made stunning saves from Lautaro Martinez and a Hakan Calhanoglu penalty to keep a clean sheet. Since then, Inter have won 14 out of 15 league games to open up a 10-point gap at the top, so Milan have it all to do to secure a double.
The pre-derby plan
As MilanNews report, on Saturday – the day before the round 28 game – head coach Massimiliano Allegri will speak at a press conference at Milanello. He will answer questions from journalists attending the Rossoneri training center starting at 12:00 CET.
The team will train in the afternoon and remain at the Carnago-based training complex overnight. The pre-game retreat is something that was brought back into practise this season, to promote a togetherness before games and remove any external distractions.
On Sunday there will be the usual finishing touches in a lighter session, followed by lunch together at Milanello. Then it will be time for an afternoon rest, a snack and finally, in the afternoon, the team will head via coach towards San Siro for the game.
