CM: Milan wanted to scout top target at World Cup but were left with little to go on

AC Milan intended to take a closer look at one of their major attacking targets in action at the World Cup but they were left with little to go on.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, Milan had Noah Okafor at the top of their list of targets to watch ahead of the tournament in Qatar and Switzerland’s passage into the knockout stages of the competition certainly provided the opportunity for the forward to get some good minutes.

However, the 22-year-old played 18 minutes off the bench in their 1-0 win over Cameroon to begin their Group G campaign, missing the Brazil defeat due to a muscle issue. Then, he played just one minute in the 3-2 victory against Serbia, and 24 minutes in last night’s 6-1 defeat against Portugal.

That means Milan were given a pretty small sample size to go on as Okafor either came on with leads to defend or with the game totally beyond the Swiss, and as a result he failed to register a goal or an assist.
