MN: Milan want to build a stronger team around Leao despite Real Madrid and PSG talk

AC Milan have something special in Rafael Leao but they know they must act quickly to resist assaults from cash-rich teams abroad.

In 42 appearances across all competitions, the Rossoneri winger amassed 14 goals and 12 assists, attracting the attention of the strongest clubs in Europe. MilanNews writes that there are rumours of Real Madrid being willing to pay €120m for him having missed out on Kylian Mbappé who has renewed with PSG, with PSG themselves also keen.

The management want to extend Leao’s contract until 2027 given that the current agreement will expire in June 2024. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara want to bolster the squad by locking down the key pillars ahead of an attempt to go deeper in the Champions League and renewals like Leao are key to cement a strong dressing room.

Everything suggests that Elliott Management will sell the club to RedBird Capital next week, and no matter who is in charge they want to keep hold of Leao and build an even better team around him.
