MilanNews writes that the day after the draw against Cremonese there was a lot of criticism of the team and Stefano Pioli, from the choices made in the summer window to the starting line-up fielded, also mentioning the substitutions during the match in progress and questions about the attitudes of those who did play.
Regarding the mercato, not much has come from the summer purchases so far and it is clear that Pioli must try to keep going with the same players despite the many games scheduled in these two months.
Two in particular have been the main problems: Charles De Ketelaere and Divock Origi. The first has suffered a bit of a downturn after a positive start to his Rossoneri adventure and is struggling even to make the simplest plays, while for the former Liverpool striker is having a slow tactical adaptation after various physical problems.
For the rest of the arrivals however, the discussion is slightly different and certainly more aimed at the future. Each of Aster Vranckx, Yacine Adli and Malick Thiaw are very young and not yet 100% ready to make a huge impact.
Adli had a chance as a starter in Verona in which he was quite impalpable, while both the German (against Cremonese) and the Belgian (in the few flashes of minutes he had) showed interesting qualities.
In addition to resetting everything from a mental point of view, Stefano Pioli will also use the World Cup break to try and get the engine running, with ‘patience’ being the main ‘password’.
