AC Milan will play their first friendly today at Milanello against Lemine Almenno as their preseason preparations began to ramp up.

Of course the first real test will be in Germany on Saturday against Bundesliga outfit FC Köln, but as MilanNews writes Stefano Pioli’s side will play amateur side Lemine Almenno today to get some minutes in their legs against a different opponent.
Pioli will not be able to use the players who have just come back from an extended break due to national team commitments such as Sandro Tonali, Alessandro Florenzi, Rafael Leao and Pierre Kalulu.
Some Primavera players will get a shot as well as Simon Kjaer, Matteo Gabbia, Tommaso Pobega, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Brahim Diaz, Junior Messias, Ante Rebic, Olivier Giroud, Daniel Maldini and Yacine Adli.
Regarding Adli, it will be an interesting test to see whether he is used as a midfielder (therefore in the double pivot) or as an attacking midfielder, or if he will be used in both roles, perhaps even as a box-to-box player if there is a tweet in formation.
