AC Milan are on the lookout for a new centre-forward ahead of the summer and they have turned to Divock Origi of Liverpool, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com report how the Origi idea could gather steam in the next few weeks because the Liverpool forward has a contract which is due to expire in June and is a profile that technical director Paolo Maldini likes a lot.
The Rossoneri technical director was captivated by the qualities of the 26-year-old Belgian international in the match at San Siro, when he scored the goal that knocked Milan out of the Champions League. Despite his knack for scoring important goals, he does not seem central to Liverpool’s plans.
The first exploratory took took place in recent days and the club have already received the approval of the player to the idea of a move. Origi has several suitors in the Premier League, but the possibility of competing in Italy with a top club like Milan fascinates him a lot.
A deal is possible and the mutual interest now means that Origi is climbing the ladder in terms of Milan’s possible summer transfer targets.
