GdS: Milan turn to 22-year-old Arsenal midfielder after Renato Sanches disappointment

Another report has emerged claiming that AC Milan have added Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga to their list of targets.

The Rossoneri remain in the market for a new central midfielder having missed out on Renato Sanches and Carney Chukwuemeka, who chose to join Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea respectively in the last couple of weeks.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the situation is now more fluid than it was when Milan were focusing their efforts on Sanches as various different profiles are being explored, including the likes of Pape Matar Sarr (Tottenham) and Raphael Onyedika (Midtjylland).

A new profile is emerging and once again it has a Belgian flavour, as Albert Sambi Lokonga is back on the wish list. The 22-year-old midfielder – who plays for Arsenal and the U21 national team (but has already made his senior debut) – has been linked with Milan before, when he was at Anderlecht.

Arsenal signed him last summer on a contract until 2026, and last season he amassed 24 appearances, of which 19 came in the Premier League.
