La Gazzetta dello Sport write how after 53 days without official matches, before the return league derby at the start of February both Inter and Milan will have seven (or eight, in the event of going through in the Coppa Italia) in less than a month.
Part of that span will include a trip to Saudi Arabia for another derby, namely the Supercoppa Italiana. Are the two teams ready to face such a busy and demanding schedule? It starts in a few days, on January 4, when Milan visit Salernitana at 12:30 CET and Inter host Napoli in the big match at 20:45.
The Italian champions arrive at the resumption of the season with three defeats in as many friendlies. After the 3-2 wn against Lumezzane on 8 December at Milanello, they lost 2-1 to Arsenal, 4-1 to Liverpool and 3-0 to PSV.
Roma will arrive at San Siro on 8 January, then Torino in the Coppa Italia on November 11th and Lecce on the 14th before the Supercoppa. Then Lazio (24/1), Sassuolo (29/1) and the quarter-finals. In short, it will not be an easy start to 2023.
