As highlighted by MilanNews, Bennacer managed to put in a performance of very high quality. When he was subbed off in the second half, he received a standing ovation from the squad and was also awarded the MOTM of the game.

The numbers speak for themselves: the Algerian was the player with the most tackles as well as interceptions, while his passing accuracy was at 87%. He was extremely intelligent in reading the play and stopping the key movements for Atletico.

His work inevitably doubled after the red card that Franck Kessie received but he didn’t let that put him down. As the report states, he rediscovered his dentity and awareness, offering a performance worthy of his level for the first time this season. Now, a new and hopefully positive phase begins for him.
