As has been reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri are prepared to wait until the summer before they sign a new striker as Luka Jovic’s form picked up in December and Olivier Giroud can certainly still lead the line.
The name at the top of the list for the summer is Lille’s David, as the Canadian striker has been destined to leave the French club for a long time and has long been linked with the Rossoneri.
There were times when David would have been out of Milan’s price range, but his value is deteriorating throughout the season thanks to his contract which expires in 2025.
Lille know that when Milan start bidding for David, they won’t be able to push too hard when it comes to the price tag as if they don’t sell him, he will leave for free during the following summer.
For this reason, it may only take a bid of around €25-30m for Milan to get their man, meaning they could finally have a long-term replacement for Giroud.
