MN: Milan toothless against Sassuolo – all the limitations of the attacking department re-emerge

AC Milan’s struggles at both ends of the pitch appeared to be clearly on display during last night’s defeat against Sassuolo, a report claims.

As MilanNews writes, Milan looked somewhat toothless up front in the loss as Rafael Leao disappointed again, Ante Rebic got lost and Mario Mandzukic was unable to make an impact. Hakan Calhanoglu’s prowess aside, Milan struggled so much and all the limitations of the attacking department emerged again.

The team committed two mistakes in defence that cost a goal, and the midfield certainly did not shine for solidity and balance especially in the last 15 minutes, but the real problem of this Milan is in attack. Without Ibrahimovic – and with Mandzukic not yet in top form – the Rossoneri are struggling to be clinical in the area.

With the Swede in doubt for the game against Lazio and some serious deficiencies that need sorting, it seems Milan have entered a sort of crisis at a difficult stage of the season, one in which they cannot afford to make mistakes.
