MN: Not just Calhanoglu and Donnarumma – two more renewals in the back of Milan’s mind

The headlines at the moment are dominated by the renewals of Hakan Calhanoglu and Gianluigi Donnarumma, but there are other situations to tackle.

MilanNews looks at the contracts of Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli which are both expiring in June 2022, and they are of course two players who have become increasingly important for the Rossoneri in recent months.

The Ivorian has adapted perfectly to a two-man midfield alongside Ismael Bennacer in the 4-2-31 system, and his salary is currently around €2.2m per year net. A raise to €3m could be enough to get the former Atalanta man to commit his future to the club.

The report mentions how there have been rumours that Romagnoli’s requests are €5m per year net which would be a substantial raise from the current €3.5m, but reflective perhaps of his status as club captain.

Still, the pressure the management are facing regarding Calhanoglu and Donnarumma means that to let a repeat of the situation happen a year down the line with Kessie and Romagnoli would be very counter-intuitive.
