MN: What’s next for Milan in the January window after Terracciano coup

There have only been three days of the January transfer window so far, but the AC Milan management are very active on various fronts.

According to MilanNews, Milan are already very close to closing their second operation. After having completed the return from the loan to Villarreal of Matteo Gabbia – who could play against Empoli on Sunday – the Rossoneri are one step away from Filippo Terracciano from Hellas Verona.

Geoffrey Moncada and co. have reached an agreement over a permanent deal for the Italy U21 international for transfer fee of €4.5m plus €1m in bonuses. To ensure that the deal is 100% closed, the clubs will have to sort out the final details and then the player will have to undergo his medical.

What happens next? Having completed the ‘fix the defence’ operation in quick time after the severe injuries that Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu sustained, Moncada and his team will now shift to seizing ‘opportunities’.

In addition to the links regarding another centre-back, it cannot be ruled out that a reinforcement in midfield might be needed, especially if Rade Krunic were to leave Milan for Fenerbache or Lyon.

Meanwhile, it is also possible that a deal is being explored for a striker, despite Luka Jovic’s form in recent weeks making it less of an urgent priority for the time being.
