MN: Ziyech not the only name as another Chelsea midfielder is of interest to Milan

Another potential option to replace Hakan Calhanoglu has emerged and once again it is a Chelsea player, according to a report.

MilanNews writes how the Rossoneri management are looking for a playmaker who can take Calhanoglu’s place in the squad. Hakim Ziyech is a target but he is more of an attacking winger, though he can also act as a playmaker, but the importance of balance cannot be understated in Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 system.

Milan are on excellent terms with Chelsea and if the Blues were to let him go, Maldini and Massara would be available to welcome him. Another name is circulating too, as Mateo Kovacic could be an opportunity for Milan to strengthen the creative midfield department given that he may be available in a cut-price deal as he is now outside Chelsea’s plans.

The Croatia international, formerly of Inter, made 39 appearances for the Blues last season including 10 in the Champions League as Chelsea went on to win it for a second time.
