Moretto: ‘Not progressing’ – Milan struggling for breakthrough in Samardzic talks

AC Milan and Udinese held talks over a potential exchange deal involving Lazar Samardzic but so far have not found an agreement, according to Matteo Moretto.

Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Samardzic over the past couple of weeks and it is not the first time he has been mentioned as a target. An attempt was made to sign him when he was with Hertha Berlin, but he opted to join RB Leipzig before ending up at Udinese.

Matteo Moretto of Relevo gave an update about Emerson Royal on his social media and in the replies to the tweet he was asked for the latest news on Samardzic, who saw a move to Inter collapse around a year ago.

He stated his belief that exits in the midfield department are needed before Milan can think about bringing the Serbia international in. Milan and Udinese tried to discuss a potential deal involving a straight swap or a player plus a small cash figure, but for now the issue ‘is not progressing’.

Moretto adds that there should be more developments later in the window, perhaps when the Rossoneri have offloaded some players to generate funds and free spaces in the squad for new additions.
