Nazione: Milan hit a wall in pursuit of major target as Fiorentina deploy risky tactic

AC Milan have hit a wall in their pursuit of one of their main summer targets in Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, a report claims.

According to La Nazione (via MilanLive), there have already been contracts between the Milan management and Fali Ramadani, the agent of Milenkovic.

If on their part there seems to be a willingness to negotiate a transfer, on the other hand the club are not interested at the moment.

The paper claims that Fiorentina have no intention of selling the 22-year-old in the upcoming window, as they intention is to keep him for at least another season.

However, La Viola will need to renew his contract, given the current deadline set for June 2022 . Without extension, Fiorentina would risk finding themselves in a position next year where the player would be on an expiring deal so they would have to sell him at a lower price than what they can get now.

Milenkovic’s future could depend on this renewal, which the Fiorentina leadership strongly wants. From Florence it transpires that the willingness to sell a central defender is there, but it concerns German Pezzella who is wanted by Roma.
