CM: New contacts expected over Vranckx as Milan fail to break through in Onana talks

Just as it looks as though AC Milan have finally settled on a midfield target and are closing in on a deal, the narrative seems to switch once again.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan have hit somewhat of a slowdown in the talks with Bordeaux over Onana as the Ligue 2 club made it clear they would only consider cash up front for the 22-year-old, i.e. a permanent deal.

The Rossoneri management on the other hand were looking to secure a loan with option to buy deal so as to limit the expense in the current summer window, so there is a difference on the formula.

Bordeaux are asking for €6m for Onana plus bonuses and a percentage of the proceeds from a potential future resale. At the moment Milan have not yet submitted an offer that comes close to this request, and new contacts with intermediaries over Wolfsburg’s Aster Vranckx are expected.
