CM: New contacts expected over Vranckx as Milan fail to break through in Onana talks

By Oliver Fisher -

Just as it looks as though AC Milan have finally settled on a midfield target and are closing in on a deal, the narrative seems to switch once again.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan have hit somewhat of a slowdown in the talks with Bordeaux over Onana as the Ligue 2 club made it clear they would only consider cash up front for the 22-year-old, i.e. a permanent deal.

The Rossoneri management on the other hand were looking to secure a loan with option to buy deal so as to limit the expense in the current summer window, so there is a difference on the formula.

Bordeaux are asking for €6m for Onana plus bonuses and a percentage of the proceeds from a potential future resale. At the moment Milan have not yet submitted an offer that comes close to this request, and new contacts with intermediaries over Wolfsburg’s Aster Vranckx are expected.

  1. If it wasn’t so sad it would be comical. Just embarrassing. Every negotiation: Milan “Will you please take less than half of what you are asking? We are Milan.” Then they tell their fans that they really tried…. ok 😉

    1. LOL. So true. Sad like you said but true. Blame ownership. They won’t increase the budget despite wining title. Shameful. It’s not like M&M are asking for another 35M. Can’t wait till we sell Leao and pocket the $$$ instead of re-investing all of it in new players 😭😭😭

      1. It is so sad but it is reality. Elliot want to pocket as much money as they can from AC Milan . Thats why i want player renew with AC Milan or use them till free, sell player only increase elliot capital gain and not using in transfer budget. It is not like paolo want to buy player with price more than 25m euro but just 6-7m euro but elliot always blocked the deal for saving few million euro . Im afraid we cannot sign DMF & CB this summer and get wrecked in depth

      2. “Under Elliott Management Milan have drastically improved their balance sheet, going from a loss of €194m in June 2020 to €96m as of June 2021”

  2. Can we stop with these joke players? Just end the charade, don’t sign some crap player and just keep bakasucko for this season and save our pennies for .5 signings next season. What a joke. It was bad when we missed sanches, then we missed frattesi. All the other links have been trash besides seko fofana who is too pricey…

    1. Unfortunately that is what we are resigned to with these owners…And to think a lot of ppl on this chat didn’t want Investcorp and their “arab” “oil” money lol. Ya sucks to be able to buy any player you want like PSG or Man City or now even Newcastle (Isak 70M; Botman 40M; etc…). Wouldn’t want to be in that situation! 🤪🤪

    2. The media won’t stop making rumours, it is their source of money. The more players they make rumours about, the greater the chance one of them ended up true.
