AC Milan have released a comment regarding UEFA’s ruling from earlier today, which confirmed breaches of the FPP rules. A fine has been handed to the club but it’s not all negative, as the club explains.
The Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body, also known as the CFCB, confirmed earlier today that Milan have been given a €2m fine plus a €13m suspended fine. Several other clubs who participated in UEFA competitions last season have also been punished due to FFP breaches.
Addressing the media outlets directly, including SempreMilan, Milan commented on the decision and made it clear that they are on the right path from a financial point of view. In fact, the Rossoneri have made tremendous improvement over the last few years.
“The decision of the Club Financial Control Body testifies to the validity of the strategic vision that guides the work of our club. We will continue with confidence on the virtuous path towards financial sustainability, in line with the indications of FFP, committing ourselves with discipline and perseverance to achieve the perfect balance and synergy between sporting and financial results: a goal that the whole world of football should continue to pursue,” the comment read.
The fine, in other words, was inevitable but it should not be considered a receipt for poor development at the club. Had Milan not improved the way they have lately, then a fine would have been the least of their worries.
