Official: AC Milan confirm the signing of Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid – all the details

AC Milan have confirmed that Brahim Diaz has joined the club on loan from Real Madrid for the 2020-21 season.

The Rossoneri swooped definitively over the past week to secure the 21-year-old on one-year dry loan, but almost all major sources are reporting that the Rossoneri will talk to Real Madrid throughout the season about making it permanent.

Brahim struggled to rack up much game time since making the move to the Spanish capital from Manchester City back in January 2019. He has made just five LaLiga starts since moving, making only substitute appearances in the top-flight last season.

Now though, the Spaniard has a chance to establish himself in Italy with the loan move, and the versatile forward can play either as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

A statement on the club’s official website reads as follows: ‘AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of the spanish footballer Brahim Abdelkader Díaz from Real Madrid CF on loan until June 30, 2021.

‘Brahim Díaz joined his teammates and coach Stefano Pioli at Milanello Sports Center in preparation for the new season. He will be wearing the number 21 jersey.’
