Official: AC Milan draw Manchester United in the last 16 of the Europa League – the details

AC Milan will face over a two-legged tie in the last 16 of the Europa League, today’s draw has confirmed.

The Rossoneri secured their progression into the final 16 of the competition, but it was far from straight forward. Having scored twice in Belgrade last week, the Rossoneri knew that they simply had to avoid defeat or a high-scoring draw against Serbian league leaders Red Star in order to progress, but away goals is exactly what they needed to go through after a 3-3 aggregate draw.

Going into the draw, Milan knew that they could face any of Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Ajax, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Villarreal, Granada, Glasgow Rangers, Dinamo Zagreb, Dynamo Kiev, Young Boys, Slavia Praha, Olympiacos or Molde.

Milan got Manchester United, and the first leg will be played at Old Trafford with the return leg at San Siro a week later. The first leg will be played on Thursday 11 March in England, while the return is scheduled for Thursday 18 March.
