Official: AC Milan vs. Napoli starting XIs – Pioli reverts to usual starters

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has elected to field the same starting line-up for tonight’s game against Napoli compared to the team that beat them 4-0 earlier in the month at the Maradona.

It was reported all week that Pioli would stick with the XI that won the game 10 days ago, and it proved to be correct. Mike Maignan will be in goal with Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez as the back four.

Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic are down as the deeper midfielders with Ismael Bennacer ahead of them tasked with pinning Stanislav Lobotka, while Rafael Leao, Brahim Diaz and Olivier Giroud complete the attack.

Pioli opted to rotate on Friday night as Malick Thiaw, Tommaso Pobega, Alexis Saelemaekers, Ante Rebic and Divock Origi all came into the side but failed to deliver three points, so they will be back on the bench.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Krunic, Tonali; Diaz, Bennacer, Leao; Giroud.

Bench: Mirante, Ballo-Toure, Rebic, Kalulu, Florenzi, Origi, Thiaw, Messias, Pobega, Gabbia, De Ketelaere, Saelemaekers.

Official Napoli XI (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Kim, Rui; Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Lozano, Elmas, Kvaratskhelia.

Bench: Idasiak, Gollini, Juan Jesus, Olivera, Politano, Ostigaard, Gaetano, Raspadori, Ndombele, Bereszinski.
