Official: Ante Rebic gets two-game Serie A ban after red card vs. Napoli – the insult he used

AC Milan forward Ante Rebic has been given a two-game ban for the insult he used towards Fabrizio Pasqua during Sunday’s defeat to Napoli.

The Croatian was sent off by referee Pasqua for protesting against a decision and then insulting the referee. It was clear from the off that it must have been insulting and/or offensive for the referee to brandish a straight red card.

It is a ‘tantrum’ that was always expected to lead to a longer than expected suspension – potentially two or three games – depending on what was written by the referee and evaluated by the Sports Judge.

As communicated by the Sports Judge (via MilanNews), Rebic will be disqualified for two rounds in Serie A “for having, at the 47th of the second half, disrespectful expressions addressed to the referee”. He will therefore miss the matches against Fiorentina and Sampdoria, the latter coming after the break for the national teams.

According to informazione.it, the reason for the red was because he told the referee: “I saw your mother being a prostitute in Naples.”
