Official: Nottingham Forest confirm signing of AC Milan outcast Origi on loan

During the night, Nottingham Forest confirmed their signing of Divock Origi on an initial loan deal from AC Milan. The Belgian has thus left after bagging a mere two goals in his first season with the Rossoneri.

Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada made their intentions clear to Origi at the start of the summer, placing him on the market, and yet they had to wait until deadline day. Nevertheless, they got the move over the line in the end.

As confirmed by Nottingham Forest on their website, they have secured the services of Origi on a season-long loan: “Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the signing of Belgium international Divock Origi. The forward arrives on a season-long loan deal from AC Milan,” the statement read.

Although they didn’t directly confirm a buy-out clause, it’s been reported by credible sources such as MilanNews and Daniele Longo that there is indeed a €5m buy-out option included. Update: This has been confirmed in Milan’s statement.

The salary of the 28-year-old will also be covered entirely by his new club, saving Milan €5.4m gross for the current season.
