It was a season filled with ups and downs for the Primavera, who were unable to find consistency despite many good periods. They finished in 6th place and made the play-offs in the final round of the season, which was a success.

However, in the decisive games they unfortunately fell apart: Guidi’s side lost to Sassuolo in the quarter-final 3-0 in the Scudetto play-off and they were also beaten by Cagliari in the final of the Coppa Italia.

Guidi to depart?

It was reported by Luca Bendoni of Sky Italia that the Primavera coach Guidi ‘could leave the club in the coming days’. He did not mention the possible destination, nor whether it would be a sacking or a desire on the part of the manager.

In the event that he does leave the Rossoneri, Bendoni added that the current U17 coach Giovanni Renna would be a candidate to replace him.

After finishing in second place in Group B of the U17 league, two points behind city rivals Inter, Milan’s U17 side made it all the way to the Scudetto final after beating Empoli and Juventus in the play-offs. However, sadly, they lost the final on penalties against Torino.

Now, the official website has confirmed the news, stating: “AC Milan can confirm that Federico Guidi’s contract as the Primavera head coach has been terminated by mutual consent.

“The Club would like to thank Federico for the commitment, passion and professionalism that he showed throughout the season and wish him all the best for his personal and professional future.”
