Official: AC Milan confirm Brahim Diaz has tested positive for Covid-19

Brahim Diaz has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss the game between AC Milan and Hellas Verona tomorrow. He joins Theo Hernandez in testing positive, therefore, which is a huge blow for the Rossoneri.

During today’s press conference, Stefano Pioli revealed that Diaz hasn’t been feeling well and there is some worry as he’s been training with the team up until the positive test. Either way, it was announced on the club’s website this evening.

“AC Milan announces that Brahim Díaz tested positive in a swab carried out today. The player is doing well and is in isolation at home. The whole team has been tested with a negative result.

Close monitoring with swab tests will follow according to the indications provided by the relevant health authorities, who were immediately informed,” the statement read.

This also means that Daniel Maldini will start in Diaz’ place and although the former has done well lately, Milan will miss the Spaniard on the pitch. We can only hope that there won’t be any more positive tests in the coming days.

The Rossoneri already have a lot of absences to deal with, that’s for sure.
