Ordine discusses ‘perfect response’ from Pioli on Milan’s UCL draw

AC Milan were drawn against Napoli in the Champions League quarter-finals earlier today. It’s a tie in which the Rossoneri are the underdogs, as was acknowledged by Stefano Pioli in the perfect way.

Milan, and the Italian teams, were incredibly lucky in the draw as they all ended up on the same side of the knockout tree. In short, whoever wins between Milan and Napoli will take on Inter or Benfica in the semi-final.

Interviewed by MilanNews, Franco Ordine was asked about Pioli’s comments about the draw as the manager acknowledged the strengths of Napoli, but also said ‘Champions League is Champions League and Milan are Milan’.

“It seemed to me like a perfect response, it’s like what happened last season. Last season, Milan were the underdogs in the race with Inter. They are a little more trained than others in being underdogs,” he stated.

Milan will play at home in the first leg, scheduled for April 12, and Napoli will be the hosts in the second leg on April 18. It will certainly be an interesting one but the Rossoneri shouldn’t be ruled out immediately, that’s for sure.
