Ordine: Sportiello another confirmation of Milan’s positive summer mercato

Marco Sportiello was a key player for AC Milan in their 1-0 win against Hellas Verona yesterday and he has since been praised by various outlets. The pundit Franco Ordine believes it’s yet another example of the mercato success.

The Rossoneri got back to winning ways thanks to Rafael Leao’s goal within the first minutes of the clash against Verona. But not only the winger was decisive, as Sportiello made a fantastic reflex save (see here) shortly after that.

In today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, the pundit Franco Ordine shared his thoughts on Sportiello. He believes that the goalkeeper’s displays are another confirmation of the successful mercato.

“Yesterday, against Verona, Sportiello repeated himself (after the save against Newcastle, editor’s note) with the save on Folorunsho’s header. Yes, but what is the moral of the story? Milan’s mercato, celebrated for its numbers, up until now has certainly produced positive data also in the goalkeeper department,” he wrote.

Milan will take on Cagliari on Wednesday and Stefano Pioli will be hoping for the new attackers, such as Samuel Chukwueze and Noah Okafor, to step up and show their qualities. So far, all the signings have shown good things.
