Pellegatti: Botman’s preference might not be enough for Milan – the situation

Sven Botman continues to be linked with a move to AC Milan but it seems the negotiations have slowed down significantly. There are multiple reasons behind that, as explained by journalist Carlo Pellegatti.

Milan are ready to say goodbye to their current captain, Alessio Romagnoli, whose contract will expire at the end of the month. Therefore, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking for a new centre-back on the market.

Botman appears to be their primary target but little progress has been made in the last few weeks. As explained by Carlo Pellegatti in his latest Youtube video, financial matters have delayed things at Lille. Put shortly, they are discussing whether to start the signing and sales campaign on July 1st or earlier for accounting reasons.

In addition to this, as the journalist continues, Paris Saint-Germain (possible contenders) and Newcastle could make life too difficult for Milan. Botman has made his preference clear but heftier offers to Lille could change the situation. The player’s will, therefore, might not be enough for the Rossoneri in the end.
