Perisic warns Milan ahead of Tottenham return: “It will be different in London”

AC Milan managed to win the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Tottenham, as Brahim Diaz scored the winner early in the first half. Spurs winger Ivan Perisic has now sent a warning to the Rossoneri.

Milan did well to contain Tottenham at San Siro and thanks to the amazing tifo of the fans prior to kick-off, the players were up for the task. Brahim Diaz opened the scoring early on and an impressive display ensured that the clean sheet stayed intact.

While it could have been 2-0, the Rossoneri will now head to London for the second leg with a slight advantage. Speaking to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Perisic shared his thoughts on the loss and sent a warning to Milan.

“We knew that it would be a tough game in front of 80,000 people. Milan did well, but it will be different in London. We didn’t show our value, we lacked something in the final third and we hope to redeem ourselves. Conte? Everyone knows how he works. He was strong as a player and now he’s also a strong coach,” he stated.

Tottenham will have Pierre-Emil Hojbjerg back for the game, which is a big boost for them, but Milan should have both Ismael Bennacer and Fikayo Tomori back by then. In fact, the latter has already returned and should start tomorrow against Monza.
