Pioli explains why Milan sometimes struggle to play against lesser sides – video

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has admitted his disappointment after his side were held to a goalless draw against Cremonese last night.

It was a game of few clear-cut chances and Stefano Pioli will be concerned with how his forwards failed to hurt one of the weakest sides in Serie A, given that they had drawn six and lost seven of their 13 games before facing the Rossoneri, winning zero.

Pioli spoke to Milan TV after the game to reflect on what was a difficult night for his side in which nothing seemed to fall for them, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“There was a lack of precision, more decisive and timely movements without the ball. We weren’t able to be as dangerous as we said to be. We did fairly well in the game. first half, while in the second we created less and were unable to score ”.

What did you say to the team?

“Nothing, I hardly speak after the game. We are disappointed, me first. More push to do the next one better.”

What happens against the ‘lesser’ sides?

“When you play with big teams there are more spaces, there are more freedom and more situations to work. With these spaces so closed we need some more individual play, but we didn’t succeed.”

Now Fiorentina are next…

“We got the shock tonight. We are not satisfied. We can do better and we will work to do better against Fiorentina; it will be a different game, tactically different, but with many pitfalls. We can do much better.”
