Pioli confirms ‘muscle problem’ for Krunic: “Now Adli will get his chance”

Rade Krunic left the game between AC Milan and Hellas Verona with a suspected muscle injury, something that Stefano Pioli confirmed in his post-match interview. This means that Yacine Adli could get the chance.

Krunic has played every single game from start this season and this afternoon, his body said stop. Quite frankly, it was coming and Pioli immediately subbed him off for Rubem Loftus-Cheek.

Milan will face Cagliari on Wednesday and in his post-match interview with DAZN (read it here), Pioli confirmed that Krunic will miss the next few games. He also stated that Yacine Adli could get his chance now.

“Unfortunately, I think he has a muscle problem. He felt something in his flexor so there was definitely something there. I can’t know the extent and I think it will be difficult to see him in the next matches, but we have other characteristics and players available. Since the beginning of the year, I have been trying Adli in that role and he is doing well, now he will get his chance too. There are also other midfielders, we can change something up front… The important thing is that the boys are well together, compact, united, willing in difficult matches like today’s.”

Milan have now also confirmed that Krunic will undergo tests on Monday to examine the extent of his muscle issues. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious as the Bosnian really has been a key player so far.
