Pioli responds to question regarding use of new signings: “Nobody is struggling”

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has refuted the idea that the summer signings are ‘struggling’ and insisted that he is simply being patient regarding their integration.

Aside from Charles De Ketelaere, Pioli has only fielded the summer signings in cameos off the bench generally, with Yacine Adli, Malick Thiaw, Sergino Dest and Aster Vranckx all yet to start a game.

There has been question marks about where Adli is given that he had an excellent preseason campaign and was left off the squad list for the Champions League, but it has been the case in the past that Pioli has taken plenty of time to make sure that new players are fully integrated and know his system inside out.

Speaking at the press conference on the eve of Milan-Napoli, Pioli was asked about the adaptation of the new players and if it is slower than he expected, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Nobody is struggling. I’m very happy with Yacine, also with Thiaw, Dest and Vranckx… they must be in a hurry, I’m not in a hurry,” he said.

“It takes the right time to understand certain things and they are doing everything necessary to convince me that they are ready. I’m sure they will be soon.”
