PM: Maldini moves to reinforce Milan’s attack – €38m playmaker and Chelsea forward targeted

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini wants to secure two new signings to raise the quality of the squad’s attacking options, a report claims.

This season the Rossoneri have shown that they are strong and that with a few additions they can really compete with everyone. According to PianetaMilan, Maldini has been working for some time to improve the squad, studying new signings, and he already has in mind the plan to succeed. However, it will be necessary to understand what will become of players like Hakan Calhanoglu, whose contract is expiring and who received a big offer from Qatar that he is reflecting on.

Udinese star Rodrigo De Paul is the first choice target should the Turk leave, and in the summer the Argentina seems destined to finally make the big leap into a top club. Milan are at the window and the request from Udinese is €38m – a figure the Rossoneri could pay for a player who would raise the quality of the attack.

Another signing that the club deem really necessary is that of a striker who can alternate with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede’s constant injury problems means a high level player who can guarantee almost the same performances is needed, which is why Milan seem very interested in Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman’s contract with Chelsea is about to expire and therefore would arrive on a free transfer. Milan has already initiated contacts and is ready to satisfy him on his salary demands.
