PM: Milan interested in midfielder RB Leipzig paid Barcelona €16m for

AC Milan are interested in signing midfielder Ilaix Moriba this summer as a potential replacement for Aster Vranckx, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by PianetaMilan, Milan have set their sights on Moriba, a Guinean midfielder with a Spanish passport who came through Barcelona nursery ‘La Masía’ and was then sold to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021 for €16m.

In the Bundesliga he failed to establish himself, with the German club sending him on loan to Valencia for the season where he has made 22 appearances and has registered two assists.

The Rossoneri could offer the same amount that RB Leipzig paid for him two years ago or alternatively divert the €12m that would have been needed to sign Vranckx on a permanent basis.

With Vranckx currently set to return to Wolfsburg and with Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan expiring too, a new midfielder is expected to be signed by the management.
