Among the current Milan players Ruben Amorim wants to count on is undoubtedly Rabiot, who is currently playing for France at the World Cup. He is a starter under Didier Deschamps and is showing that he can be a perfect balancer in the double pivot, something Amorim also wants.
Interviewed by Rai (via MilanNews) outside Les Bleus’ national team training camp, the midfielder was asked if the new Milan coach had called him in recent days, and he responded: “We’ll talk later.”

Rabiot clearly wants to stay focused on the World Cup, more specifically the semi-final that awaits France against Spain on Tuesday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
His mother and agent, Veronique, who looks after her son’s interests, was also present. Mrs. Rabiot doesn’t like giving interviews, but, according to a Rai correspondent, she hinted that she sees her son’s future still with the Rossoneri.
Once the World Cup is over, the player will speak again with Amorim, who will reiterate his absolute intention to put him at the heart of his Milan side. As mentioned, the former PSG and Juventus man certainly has traits that blend well with what the new Portuguese coach wants from his midfield.
In recent weeks, his name has often been linked with Napoli, who will be coached by his great admirer Massimiliano Allegri. Yet, without the sale of Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, the Azzurri will be unable to make any new signings in midfield.
