GdS: Real Madrid make forward available for €20m – the three reasons Milan are keen

AC Milan believe that Marco Asensio would be the ideal profile for them and they are looking to push ahead with negotiations, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that Asensio is not only liked by head coach Stefano Pioli, but also by directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, and there are three reasons for this above all.

Firstly, the management are certain that signing someone like the Spaniard would significantly increase the quality of the Rossoneri’s attack and it would also bring another player who has experience winning on the biggest stages.

Secondly, the versatility that Asensio possesses makes him almost perfect for Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 given that he can play either as a right winger cutting inside onto his left foot or as a playmaker behind the centre-forward.

Finally there is the feasibility of the deal. Asensio only has a one-year contract with Real Madrid and they do not seem willing to offer him a renewal so he has begun to look around, and Milan could be a very welcome destination.

There is no real negotiation yet because other names are being evaluated such as Charles De Ketelaere, Hakim Ziyech, Nicolo Zaniolo and Paulo Dybala, while Los Blancos want to collect at least €20m from Asensio’s sale.

The player meanwhile wants €5m net per season to sign but the relations between Milan, Real Madrid and Asensio’s agent Jorge Mendes are excellent and could facilitate everything.
