On 42 minutes Ibrahimovic asked for a penalty after a contact from Tommaso Augelloas the Sampdoria full-back tried to intervene while the Swede attempted to latch onto a ball heading for the byline, and feeling some contact he went over.

The referee Piccinini waved away the appeals by giving a goal kick, and the replays show that at the moment of the alleged contact in the Sampdoria box he did not have a clear view to see Augello’s challenge on Ibrahimovic.

However, there was no call from the VAR as the assistant Irrati in the station chose not to intervene and therefore to accept the interpretation from the referee’s field as good.
