Relevo: Leao ‘closer than ever’ to renewing with Milan – the situation

Rafael Leao appears to be one step away from renewing his contract with AC Milan. The recent talks were very positive and the negotiation seems to be at the final stage, according to a report.

Leao’s current deal with the Rossoneri will expire in 2024 and the parties have been working on a renewal for several months. It’s been a tiring process, frankly, and the winger’s form has also been hurt by the matter.

According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Leao is ‘closer than ever’ to renewing his deal with Milan. The player has always made it known that he wants to renew but the problem was mainly financial, relating to those who handle his affairs.

There have been talks between the parties in recent days and they were positive, with the negotiations now appearing to be in the final stretch, per the report.

The saga has been very long and frustrating, also because Leao hasn’t scored for Milan since the game against Lecce in February. After breaking his goal drought during the international break, and with the renewal almost done, perhaps he will find his form for the Rossoneri again.
