According to what we have learned from our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, the idea of Renato Sanches joining in the summer is fading because of the requests of his agent Jorge Mendes from a salary point of view.
However, the name of Seko Fofana has emerged and Milan seem ready to try and close a deal for him in a relatively short time in order to secure Franck Kessie’s replacement.
A past in Serie A
Fofana already knows the Italian league well given that he played for Udinese, where he racked up 13 goals and 12 assists in 119 appearances. Since returning to France though there is no doubting he has become a leader of Lens.
The 26-year-old has earned a reputation for making runs forward at the right time, as shown by his haul of 7 goals this season alone, which means he could in theory replace Kessie’s goals if he were to keep up a similar pace back in Serie A.
The figures and the player’s stance
Valued at around €20m, Seko Fofana is now the profile most appreciated by Maldini and Massara as a replacement for Kessié next season, and the player for his part would be happy to join.
Now, it is necessary to convince RC Lens who are currently in the running for a place in the Europa League, something that would be a big achievement for them and is thanks to a player like Fofana.
