Report: Maldini could become new sporting director of Al-Ahli Saudi

Paolo Maldini was sacked by AC Milan last week and it remains to be seen if he will accept a similar role elsewhere. Potential suitors have already emerged including the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, a report claims.

Milan decided to part ways with the club legend last week and the decision came as a surprise to many. Gerry Cardinale has since promoted Chief Scout Geoffrey Moncada, who is working closely with CEO Giorgio Furlani.

According to the Qatari outlet Alkass Channel, Saudi Arabia club Al-Ahli SFC are interested in bringing in Maldini as their new sporting director for next season. The club gained promoted to the first tier this past season and want to start with a bang.

Maldini has famously said that he would only work for Milan, and not for a competitor, but this could perhaps change given that there would be some distance between him and the Rossoneri with this offer.
