Although Simon Kjaer has done well since his arrival in January, partnering up with Alessio Romagnoli, Milan are looking for a centre-back on the market.

It is anticipated that the signing would be a more long-term solution, with the likes of Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer and Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic among the players most strongly linked with a move to San Siro.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it) have been the Italian outlet who have most frequently reported though that Fofana is also a player on the wish list of Paolo Maldini and the management, with the impressive 19-year-old believed to be attracting interest from a number of clubs.

According to transfer source @meguidec on Twitter, Milan have placed an offer of €18m to try and land Fofana, but Saint-Etienne are holding out for €25m and Leicester are now also in the race.
