Report: Southampton leading race for Italy starlet as Milan turn attentions to Real Madrid man

Premier League side Southampton are pressing ahead with a move for AC Milan target Gianluca Scamacca, according to a report.

The Rossoneri’s interest in the Sassuolo-owned striker has been well documented by a number of different outlets, and a report from il Milanista claims that if a week ago he was a major target, now things have changed.

That is because the Rossoneri management are pushing their foot on the accelerator to bring Luka Jovic to Milan from Real Madrid, with Scamacca now a plan B.

They claim that three Premier teams would have contacted Paolo Paoloni – Scamacca’s agent – and have tried to probe the ground, with Southampton among them but the other two not named.

It was first reported by seriebnews.com that Milan’s chief scout Geoffrey Moncada likes the look of Scamacca, who has 10 goals this season in all competitions on loan at Serie B side Ascoli from Sassuolo.
