That is according to La Repubblica (via MilanNews), who write that Milan and Inter met Mayor Sala and the superintendent of cultural heritage of the Municipality Emanuela Carpani yesterday.

They did so in order to probe the possibility of removing the constraint on San Siro which will start in 2025, when the second and third tiers of the stadium will turn 70 years old and thus have extra protection placed on them regarding developments/demolition.

While waiting for the result of the talks between Carpani and the minister Sangiuliani, the teams are continuing to work on alternative solutions so as not to be caught unprepared in the event the ‘new San Siro’ project becomes unfeasible.

Milan in particular are pushing hard and while the La Maura hypothesis seems to have faded, the Rossoneri are very skeptical about the feasibility of the San Siro dossier plan especially after so many years of work, postponements and missed deadlines.
