After coming up against his old club Lazio on Saturday night at San Siro, Igli Tare will now return to the Stadio Olimpico.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) recall, Tare became AC Milan’s sporting director earlier this summer having been out of work since he left Lazio, a club that he spent most of his professional life at as a player and then as a director.
In fact, he spent over 15 years with the Biancocelesti, having arrived in 2005 as a midfielder, before joining the management team in 2008, and he remained there until 2023.
Home sweet home?
Tare heads back to the stadium that he called home for over a decade, and he will see Claudio Lotito once again. All this comes after the fireworks from the weekend at San Siro, including the VAR drama as Milan won 1-0 to move back top.
The Albanian will also reunite with some of the players he brought to Lazio. Among them is captain Zaccagni, who arrived in 2021 for €7.3m. Pedro was signed for free from Roma, and the centre-back duo of Alessio Romagnoli and Mario Gila (a reported Milan target) were his signings too.
There is a reunion with Maurizio Sarri on the cards once again, too. In short, there’s still a lot of Tare in this Lazio side, and he certainly left a piece of his heart at the Stadio Olimpico.
