Di Marzio: Roma agree deal with Dybala – why Milan never made a move

AC Milan never made a concrete move for Paulo Dybala because they were focused on signing another target, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Di Marzio spoke on Radio 24 (via MilanNews), it is Roma that have won the race to sign Dybala after seemingly quite a quick blitz. Jose Mourinho always has an important weight when he calls players, but the work of director Tiago Pinto and owner Dan Friedkin – who yesterday in a call spoke with Dybala – certainly helped.

A new adventure in the capital awaits, while the journalist adds that Milan had another priority which is signing Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge, so they never seriously entered the running.

Napoli tried, but had difficulties linked to image rights and that is how Roma were able to get in there first. Inter stopped their pursuit after signing Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea, which meant they needed to wait for depatures.
