Di Marzio: Roma agree deal with Dybala – why Milan never made a move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan never made a concrete move for Paulo Dybala because they were focused on signing another target, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Di Marzio spoke on Radio 24 (via MilanNews), it is Roma that have won the race to sign Dybala after seemingly quite a quick blitz. Jose Mourinho always has an important weight when he calls players, but the work of director Tiago Pinto and owner Dan Friedkin – who yesterday in a call spoke with Dybala – certainly helped.

A new adventure in the capital awaits, while the journalist adds that Milan had another priority which is signing Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge, so they never seriously entered the running.

Napoli tried, but had difficulties linked to image rights and that is how Roma were able to get in there first. Inter stopped their pursuit after signing Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea, which meant they needed to wait for depatures.

  1. Roma look extremely strong, they will be a big challenge next season looking at their squad and with Mourinho at the helm

    1. all teams have their various bus stop, the reason milan won the league to me was that milan have no specific goal scorer that causes indecision to the opponents. we shall see this season

    1. If you cant show a club legend like maldini respect while also disrespecting massara on top of it who both has done wonders for the club since arriving then piss off because you are either a troll or have an iq of a barnacle. We are scudetto winners and you have the audacity to say that they want to push us towards the relegation zone, yeah right, whos the idiot here ? yeah you guessed right its you.

        1. Theres a danish saying that goes something like this translated to english “one has to hear a lot before the ears fall off” which mean to express amazement of very odd ,insane, idotic or slanderous statements and his comment covers it all pretty well 😀

  2. AS Roma can’t challenge either juve, Ac milan, inter milan and even napoli to the title. Either can they qualify for CL. At least mourinho has gotten himself a job that comes with less-presure. Sigh!
