Romero says he wants to ‘stay for the season’ after Real Madrid display amid loan rumours

AC Milan youngster Luka Romero has clearly stated that he would like to stay at the club for the 2023/24 season rather than be sent out on loan after his display against Real Madrid in pre-season.

Speaking after the 3-2 defeat in California (via Milan News), the 18-year-old was asked whether he would like to remain with the Rossoneri or be loaned out, as reports have suggested that Milan will find a temporary home for him.

He was very clear that he thinks he can learn more from being a part of Stefano Pioli’s squad during the new season.

“Do I want to stay or go and play? I want to stay for the season, I can learn a lot here,” Romero said.

Romero is the name on Milan fans’ lips right now because he scored the second goal for the Rossoneri, which was a wonderful strike from distance into the top corner.

Given he is Argentinian, parallels were immediately drawn with Paulo Dybala. Romero made it clear that he hit the ball in his own way, rather than copying anyone else.

“Dybala-style goals? I kicked it the way I know how,” he said.
