Rosario president lifts lid on future of promising striker linked with Milan

Alejo Veliz is one among many other young talents on AC Milan’s radar and the Rossoneri are reportedly considering making a move for the striker. However, Rosario Central’s president has now played down the rumours.

As was reported by MilanNews just yesterday, 19-year-old striker Alejo Veliz has caught the attention of Milan, having scored 11 in 22 league games for Rosario Central this season. In the event of Lorenzo Colombo’s departure, the interest could turn into a concrete attempt.

In a recent interview, as cited by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Rosario Central president Gonzalo Luis Belloso shared his thoughts on the future of Veliz. He stated that they don’t need to sell him right now.

“Gino’s [Infantino] transfer to Fiorentina gives us some breathing room and improves our economic situation, filling our coffers until next year. And that is why, now, our intention is to keep Alejo Véliz until December,” he stated.

As said, a lot will depend on Colombo who has returned from his loan spell at Lecce. It would probably be best for him to go on another loan, rather than being the third choice being Olivier Giroud and Noah Okafor this upcoming season.
