Sacchi urges Milan fans to be ‘patient’ with De Ketelaere: “He enters with anxiety”

Charles De Ketelaere hasn’t had the best of starts to his AC Milan adventure, failing to impose himself in the No.10 role. The Rossoneri fans will have to be patient with him, though, as Arrigo Sacchi argues.

The €35m signing has made 14 appearances thus far but he only has one assist to his name. There have been some glimpses of his quality, which is undeniable, but he’s yet to find that all-important breakthrough.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, the legendary manager Arrigo Sacchi was asked about the development of De Ketelaere. He urged the Milan fans to remain patient, as the Belgian will shine soon.

“Today he’s a confused boy, you have to be patient. He’s afraid to play, he enters with the anxiety of having to demonstrate his value. I hope he can bring out his qualities,” he stated.

Brahim Diaz is expected to start against Torino tonight but it’s very likely that we will see De Ketelaere off the bench. Albeit tough for the time being, the hope is that the competition with Diaz will help De Ketelaere to unlock his qualities.
